Karl, Yes, it's true that even Macs sometimes have problems reading other Mac disks, especially reading system 7 formatted disks on system 6, but with Amax it's more a problem of the emulator trying to fake the variable speed Mac drive. The reason I said it's not a problem with Emplant is because Emplant has NO mechanism for reading 800K disks except if you have the Sybil hardware, so I don't have to worry about whether Emplant will read a disk or not, which I do worry about with Amax. If I can get the disks converted on a real Mac then I can at least transfer the files to a HD floppy. But I recently tried converting my FaxSTF disks to HD and when I went throught the install it said the disk was the right name, but it wasn't the right disk!! Guess they have some form of protection where if you copy the disk you can't use the copies!! Truly wierd.
