Yep. I agree. Just ordered my 486/66 DX2 w/16 megs of RAM, a VLB SCSI card, and a graphics accelerator that will do 1280x1024x256. All for less than a 4000. Grrrr. I wanted to buy that too, but no market. Even though Windows is a Pane in the Butt and nothing to Storm over, I do like all those nifty GUI tools and tons of support from MS. Just upgraded my developer status to 2nd level so I can get all of the DDK stuff. And NT is a golden pig. I have lots of idea for new and innovative software, but I'm doing them on the PC. Hell, I bet NT has a bigger installed base by now than the 4000. And growing all the time. Yep. Had to feed the kids and keep the wife happy. Windows is doing that for me, in a big way. I am consulting full time making a respectable number of $$$$ per hour, more than I could conjure up in the Amiga market. Much more. And I'm just doing booring front-ends to databases. Barely a challenge (which leaves my brain free for REAL stuff!!!) And there's a BIG demand for competent Windows programmers. So even though I cry, I cry all the way to the bank. Then I smile.
