Are you asking "could I use this MIDI interface on an IBM computer ?", or
"Could I use the MIDI interface to connect my Amiga to an IBM computer ?"
The answer to the first question is, probably not. Most Amiga MIDI
interfaces connect to the serial port. If the connector is like a
socket rather than a plug with pins it is serial. Although the data
interface is standard RS-232 the connector also has some extra power
supply pins which are not standard and most MIDI interfaces are
powered from these. Also, most IBM MIDI software expects to find the
interface on an expansion card rather than connected to the serial
port.
The answer to the second question is you could transfer MIDI
information between any two computers with sequencers. Just connect
MIDI Out on the render to MIDI in on the receiver, set the receiver
to record and the sender to play.
Hope this is of some help
