Another thing to remember about magazines is a little devil called "lead time". For a magazine you got in you mailbox yesterday (for example), SoftLogik might have had to place the ad in September. It's entirely possible that they _thought_ back then they'd have the program done by now, but in the meantime have run into snags that held them back; as a programmer by profession myself, I can tell you that those things happen much more often than anyone likes. I have the ST version of PageStream (my 2000 is a recent acquisition), and though there are still some bugs, it is a _very_ powerful program. The newest version is due very shortly and fixes most of the current problems, as well as adding some features. As for the Amiga version, your patience will be _greatly_ rewarded when you do receive it.
