I heard that not only does just California get quakes, but so does the rest of the continent (ie North America). I remember reading something about a quake that hit Witichita<sp?> Kansas. Do know that the western coast of Canada has quakes (not that frequent tho); as well as Alaskan coast and the Yukon (quite frequent). Matter of a fact Ancorage had one so bad in the early 60's that the main road had a wall in it 12 feet high and one part of the bay that they were situated on, the water just drained away. California, I think, just has the distinction of having the possibility of dropping off into the Pacific one day (So buy that potential beach front property in Arizona and Nevada real quick<g>).
