You are wasting your breath. There is no way you can convince me that Amiga is a wonderful computer. It is a computer with some interesting features – but as a whole, it just isn't worth the money (unless you are very into desktop video). As I said to someone else here – The money I'll spend getting Amiga to do what I like in IBMs is ultimatly more than I'll spend in getting IBMs to do what I like in Amiga. Plus I'll get more software that is more bug-free from companies that will be here tomorrow. It is not unusual for someone to staunchly defend the computer THEY spent money on. I know people that insist that the TI-99-4a is without a doubt the best computer that has ever been invented. That does not make it so. I have programmed the IBMs for years. They have major faults. But they do not have as many faults as Amiga. The only reason I bought Amiga was the 4096 color video looked good for digitizing. The software to exploit that aspect of the machine though took too long to emerge. Now I can stick a TI-chip card on an IBM and produce images that look better and the software will be more solid. Get real. Buy Apple or IBM. All the rest are features without substance. Now I have to figure-out what to do with my 1000. It has no resale value now that 500s and 2000s are here (thanks Commodore!). At least with the old IBMs you could buy a new BIOS and a memory card and they could re-sell for just as much as a newer one. — goodby & good luck y'all … you all were great – even if deluded.
