Jerry: So far, I'm taking your advice and waiting a little longer to see what happens. My impatience in just itching to go ahead and DO SOMETHING! But the slightly calmer, logical part of me says, "It won't kill you (or business) to wait another month or two to see if anything changes." So far, it's logical part 1, impatient part 0. If I went ahead and bought today, I'm still not sure what I'd end up with, but I suspect it would be either Beta SP or U-matic SP. By the way, I noticed the Sony VO-9600 and VO-9000 (VTR and source, respectively) in a catalog. They're U-matic SP, and I think that's what you said you're using now. Do you know anything about these machines? Do you think they'd be a good choice? (Even if they're not your top choice, they're better than S-VHS, right?!) You'll be happy to know that you've pretty much talked me out of going S-VHS, but I'm just not sure what I can afford. The Sony U-matic SP machines seemed priced pretty comparably to the Panasonic S-VHS decks I'd priced. If you have an opinion about the Sony decks, let me know. Otherwise, well, I'll let you know when I finally do something. (Of course, if I bought S-VHS, I'd lie to you and tell you something else! You'd never let me live it down.) David
