Well, I *think* I've found the culprit – it =really= didn't make sense to me that both machine would "go south" on me at one time, but this morning when I was trying to copy some WordPerfect documents off the file-server I got an I/O error on the H: (network) drive. (bummer! it's a 1.5GB big dog – another battle to fight when I'm through with this one) Anyway – I'm reinstalling from my original diskettes onto each machine while not even connected to the server, will give back another report tomorrow… (looks like it's going to be a looooong evening!) <g>…
