Well, unless you know something that nobody else does (including the people
that have been playing the ST version for months [like me <grin>]), you are
probably confusing that room with another room. The fields are the whole point
to that particular puzzle; to turn them off would make it _too_ easy. However,
a couple levels down, there _is_ a room where it helps your chances of survival
greatly to turn off the fields, and there is a way (You don't actually think
I'll tell what it is, do you? <smirk>). Have fun!
