I trashed my hard drive a few months ago, and _didn't_ have a current backup to fall back on – believe me, it's an even greater pain than just restoring a backup. The one advantage is that I was forced to prune a lot of the garbage off my hard drive that should have been pruned anyway. I also installed EPU and gained about 50 % more space. I also trashed my OS libraries about a year and a half ago (I believe…I'm still not entirely sure) writing some software. I used to have all kinds of problems, until I installed 2.1 this summer. Most of the problems have comp;letely disappeared, but I'll robably be doing some more programming this semester, so it's always possible I'll reproduce my earlier feat. Moral of the story – Murphy's law strikes again… D.
