Here's my question: Many of us agree that Commodore should be aggressively promoting the Amiga in the multimedia and desktop video arenas. Other platforms offer equal or superior solutions, but what the buying public doesn't get to read in those gee-whiz magazine articles are the pitfalls associated with doing multimedia on a Mac or PC: the compatibility conflicts, the poor real-life performance (Quicktime @ 30fps is often mentioned; the postage stamp size is often omitted), or the obscenely high prices charged for solutions that do work. How about an ad campaign in video and multimedia magazines exposing the real-life problems found on other platforms, as opposed by the low-price, high-performance solutions offered on the Amiga? You could easily compare AmigaVision, at $150, with PC authoring software costing much more than that. Or take on the mighty Matrox video board and show that the snazzy 3-D DVEs shown in their latest ads require an additional processor board, at a total cost of several thousand more than a Toaster. Show what Montage24/AGA can do, and how little it costs. For heaven's sake, trumpet Imagemaster, the $99 image-processing, format-translating, morphing Eigth Wonder of the Modern World! I really feel that cold hard facts, rather than vague sweeping concepts, can jostle people into taking a new look at Amigas. Do you? Blaq!
