I get the feeling that you aren't listening, or that you misunderstand.
What I am saying is that you tailor your operation, the programs you use, and
the number of programs you use to the system you have. You cannot cram more
into the machine than you have memory for. This is an immutable principle. It
is a matter of whether you want the multitasking or or the particular
programs you run more.
You remind me of the guy who was having a house built. He wanted it small,
becuase he couldn't afford a big one, but inside, he wanted large rooms, and
plenty of them.
