ACCESS Problems
This message turned up in search, but its forum couldn’t be identified from the original transcript, so it may not be linked into its thread.
Hi, I 'm having trouble installing ACCESS on my hard drive. I have an
Amiga2000 with the IBM Bridgecard. I have a 30 Meg hard Drive that's hooked
to the IBM, 10 for the IBM side with the remaining going to the Amiga (JH0:).
I've followed the instructions to the letter with no satisfactory results. I
used the define window to direct where the SYS files are located. It loads up
with Access going automaticly to Chat mode with "ATZ" in the Chat box, and
garbage in the main portion of the screen. I had some problems because I
kept getting "can't open SYS:Acc!.def but I took care of that with the define
window. I think it may be with the modem settings (currently "ATZ") but I
don't know. I have an EVERX 2400 baud modem (24E) and the manual gave no
mention about modem settings. I have access on a stripped copy of Wbench and
it does not access the Harddrive. When I use this, it loads without any
problems (I am using it now). But when I have my system running off the
HardDrive (starting/loading /running) I have these problems regardless of
wiether it is on the Hard Drive or in DF1:. But when I boot the disk with
Access on it, it runs fine. Could it be in the Startup-Sequence?
Here is my startup sequence.
DF0:s/startup-sequence
BindDrivers Wait 40 DJMount jh0:c/echo "A2000 PC workbench 1.2*n"
jh0:c/assign c: jh0:c cd jh0: execute jh0:s/startup
JH0:s/startup
assign sys: jh0: assign devs: jh0:devs assign libs: jh0:libs assign l: jh0:l
assign fonts: jh0:fonts assign t: jh0:t assign s: jh0:s assign system:
jh0:system assign utilities: jh0:utilities assign dh0: jh0: path jh0:c
jh0:system jh0:utilities loadwb endcli
I sure would appreciated any and all help, I have spent all weekend (day &
night trying to solve this) and I need some advise. What am I doing wrong and
what should I do.
