Andrew,
Converting your animations to one pallete is only half the battle. Windows
reserves 20 pallete positions for its own use (the first 10 and the last 10
positions). So, in addition to creating animations where each frame shares a
common palette, make that palette only 236 colors, centered in the middle, so
that the first and last 10 palette positions are free for windows to play with.
