One source that I KNOW to be available is the Insider from Michigan Software.
It fits inside your 1000 and is far less likely to interfere with other addons
than the SOS kind that I have. I believe it can hold up to 1M, making a total
of 1.5M. Also, I'm pretty sure that Microbotics is still selling their memory
box for a 2M expansion, and it will also hold a hard disk controller. I have
Escort2, which was supposed to have a hard disk controller card, too – but I've
never found one that will fit in it. The slot is there, but it is ZorroI, and
if anything works in there, I can't find out what it is.
Anyway, I think your best bet is either the Insider or the Microbotics.
