I read a lot. (I'm sure I forgot a few too.)
About the Amiga: I wouldn't get one. Your money is better spent (I
think) on a PC. (You can get a 486, with a 24bit color card, and
various graphics software for a reasonable price.) I don't see the
Amiga having a big future. If you have one, sure, get some software,
if you don't have enough to get anything on a different platform.
Lightwave is a good package, but is really about the same as 3DS in
cost, and the Amiga has less powerful computers to run on. (except
for the Screamer, which is only (I think) a renderer for Lightwave.)
