Mark… I would agree with you if C= manufactured the drives. However I believe they have an outside company manufacture them. In that case they pay X$ for the drives and sell them for X$+. Yes, they need the original X$ to purchase and stock the drive but I think if they were looking at the market they would see that there is a demand for these drives and other hardware that they are the only provider of. The third party drives are a case in point. An A4000 HiD drive costs me $99 mail order. A third party drive (that might work with my computer????) costs $179 mail order. The main difference between the A4000 drive and an A3000 drive, I am told, is the face plate. I have not been assured that the nearly twice as expensive third party drive will function in two of the three modes I need it 9 (Emplant and CrossDOS). Plus – as a stock holder in C= I would prefer to purchase and support that company. Hope I have made my reasoning clear. I do want to thank you for your activism in regards to contacting C= and the other confabs you have apparently scheduled. I only wish I had time to sit in on the conferences but alas TIME is the one thing I have way too little of and am incapable of making more of. Again thanks for your proactive stance. ..Carl
