Jeremy, Intersting. Let me respond to a few things here. In order to get these boxes into the department stores Commodore has to agree to co-operative advertising dollars. They have to agree to provide product on credit and usually with a good return policy. This is a tremendous outlay of dollars that would surely raise the price of the Amiga instead of lowering it further. The second thing that has to be there is demand. Sears and Montgomery Wards (who used to have the Amiga by the way) want a good margin and want a product will move without a great deal of promotion from them–other than to advertise they have it. Amigas require people who understand the machine and understand its virtue over the machines. Simply put–no Amiga computer will ever sell well in department stores–even if Commodore had the money to fund it. This was aptly demonstrated with the Amiga 500 and Montgomery Wards. CD32 may be another matter. We shall see. By the way, the days of the $300 Amiga 1200 is over. 😉 -mark= Otto Pilot Engaged..
