The MGA and MGA II both suppport VESA, but the MGA Impression (high-end) series
have horrible VGA chipsets – veeery slow and tough to use in 3DS. The MGA II
apparently has a faster VGA chipset, so that shouldn't be a problem. The MGA
high-end cards have 3D hardware for 3d dynaview in AutoCad, and the MGA II
don't.
In windows there is no faster card in production that I know of at the moment,
and the MGA Impression won the BYTE graphics accelerators review for CAD cards.
It came in second in DTP next to the less expensive SuperMac, although the
Matrox was faster. The MGA II is supposedly faster in windows than the MGA.
