Hi Richard, Other than getting Autodesk's registered owner mailing list (not likely), the only thing that I can think of is Bill Allen's 3D Artist magazine. He has compiled a very informal poll or survey, if you like, (very unscientific; based on readership). Not only will you get a view of 3DS, you will also get a comparitive study of other 3D packages. What you can do (and I again say this is unscientific and makes several assumptions) is take the 27,000 registered users and extrapolate the data you can get from Bill. He publishes the ratio mix of all his readership regulary, but for what you want (broken down by state and country) you will probably have to pay some sort of fee to have it compiled. He is pretty busy so there are not guarantees here. But if "inquiring minds need to know" his subscription card for the magazine has to only complete 3D survey that I have ever filled out for a magazine. 3D Artist P. O. That old TV program "What's My Line?" just came to mind. Okay, I'll ask the first question. "Do you work in the public relations industry?" Please, just "Yes" or "No" answers <bg>!
