Bob,
I have run 1.3 on my 3000. It's one of the older machines that
Kickstart from the harddrive. The way it's set up, there's a separate
partition for 1.3 and 2.x. At cold boot time, you hold down both
mouse buttons to get a menu which lets you pick where you boot from.
It's been a long time since I messed with it, but I remember having
some trouble setting up the 1.3 side with later versions of 2.x. But
there is a 3000 SuperKickstart disk, they just stopped shipping it
around 2.04…
