Royalty…
Well there is a neat legal loophole that all officers hold Queen's
Commissions. What this basically says is the the person named on the
commission is allowed to command "the Queen's troops" (reading that
directly from my commission sheepskin). So, if it ever came to
military intervention, officers that went against the sovereign's
orders would be in direct violation of their commission (not to
mention that they would be in direct violation of the Queen's
Regulations. Stated within the regs is a small law that states if
any insult is made by an officer with reference to the sovereign,
said officer could expect 5 years in a military prison and a
dishonourable discharge<g>).. Best not to fool around with the
Queen..
Now if only Francis would have been ousted by an outrage populace in "To
Play the King"<g>.
