BLAQ'S RECIPE FOR GENLOCKING IN IMAGINE
—————————————
In Imagine's Preferences, set COL0 and GENC to the same value. This
should be a color which will not appear in your scene; for example,
set COL0 to F,0,0 and GENC to F0,00,00. Then click on "Genlock sky"
in the Action editor's Globals actor bar, and/or "Genlock" in the
Attributes requester of any object you want to be
genlock-transparent. When you render the animation in a ILBM-12bit
format _register_ (not HAM) mode, color 0 in the palette will be full
red in my example, which is also the color of the genlocked sky;
therefore, the sky will be transparent when genlocked over live
video. Ta-daa!
Another way to ensure your genlock color doesn't inadvertently appear
in unwanted areas of your scene is to set COL0 and GENC to all
zeroes, and to add a bit of ambient light in the Globals; even 1,1,1
would do the trick.
