There was a message with comments on the Felsina Atalk a few days ago which was not exactly complementary. I've only seen a demo but it has some good features. Felsina are offering a 40% discount to people who have other terminal programs. Marco Felsina was already talking about an update with a gadget driven module to let users to build their own terminal emulation – including graphics. At the moment however, he is wondering if programming for the Amiga (or any other computer) is worthwhile. He has sold 3 copies of Atalk in the week or so that it has been on the market and had another copy reviewed by Byte magazine. One bulletin board alone in Ca reporte 40 (yes, forty) people using Atalk on their board. At that piracy rate, even packages with the broadest application potential are only looking at a market of about 10,000 (with an extra 90,000) pirated copies. – No wonder the big guys aren't interested in the Amiga!!!!!!!! Maybe someone can develop a system where disks have a few random (sort of holes (literally) in them or other non-magnetic readable device (maybe even white spots overlaying the magnetic media which can be looked at by the disk drive and associated with a unique numerical value also stored on the disk describing the position of markers. A program could then detect the number and identifier positions before running. It'll cost but not as much as we lose by discouraging programmers. This is really sick – John
