Don, My name is Paul Rempfer, and I have a question for you. (actually I have several questions). Betty Clay suggested I ask you. To begin, I recently purchased my Amiga 2000 with a bridgeboard and a 40-meg hard-card, which I partitioned for half and half use with both sides of my system. The hard card fits in the PC bus slot. I utilized the bridgeboard software programs to partition the disk, and it worked fine for awhile, and then the whole thing locked up. I had to return the hard card to the manufacturer for repair. They said they had a problem getting the %%#@@*&*@#$ thing to run too, so they sent me a new one. I received it yesterday (1-5-89). I plugged the thing into a PC bus slot and attempted to run the "fdisk" program to partition the PC side of the thing. I received the message "Error Reading Hard Fixed Disk." I attempted the "adisk" program to partition the Amiga side, and received the message "Partition Table Error!" Now I want to know what the deal is! I've pulled out my hair and my beard trying to figure the thing out. As far as I can tell it could be one of several things: 1. This disk is bad, just as the old one was. 2. the PC bus slots are bad in my 2000 (I don't think this is likely, since I am operating my modem out of the slot the hard card didn't work in) or 3. There is something fuzzy about the MSDos software I received with the bridgeboard. Have you ever seen this type of problem. Do I need to get a new bridgeboard or hard card? Do I need to commit hari-kari tonight, or is there some logical explanation for this mess. Thanks for your attention. Paul K. Rempfer 72460,2373
