Jason, Just read your inquiry about controlling VCRs from AMIGA (time lapse
recording, etc…). I have had similar interests for a while in using AMIGA
for video interfacing purposes. In fact, I was just reading my VIDEOSCAPE 3D
about recording VScape animations frame by frame; indeed, it seems that at
this point most AMIGA graphics/animations packages are good in term of
generating animation sequences, but their smoothness (or lack of it) in
paying those sequences leaves to be desired… The VScape 3D manual mentions
that it should be possible to "run a frame controller (hardware & software)
from the printer output" to allow frame by frame (and presumably time-lapse)
recording. I hope we'll get answers to all those questions. Hey! At this
point, AMIGA is most ideally suited (price-wise and software wise) to be a
graphics/video production & editinf machine "for the rest of us". I am sure
that a lot of Amiga users are into this, but it is sometimes hard to hear
about them (Maybe the Business Broadcast Forum – BPForum – offers more
info.??). Just using Pro Video CGI for Hi-Res character generation is a proof
of AMIGA's semi-professional capabilities!!
