<< what IPAS's are coming down the line..>>
Hi Jonas,
Thanks for responding. Yes, I saw those and am anxiously awaiting their
release, as well as skin.axp. What I meant was it would be desireable (to me)
to have routines very similar to FWORKS, SNOW, SPURT, EXPLODE, DISINT, etc.
"enhanced" by IPAS3 capabilities including interactivity in the K/F.
On the other subject, PIXAR/VALIS type proc. textures, I believe Gary hit
the nail on the head with his "not very challenging" asessment. This is very
unfortunate though (albeit common), as these are "basic tools" with very
powerful results on the impact of an image or animation…..not to mention the
memory useage savings as R3 *really* seems to eat it up w/r/t previous
versions. (I've only very limited experience with this program, especially
before R3 – but it sure *seems* this is true from my recent experiments).
However, the noise/turbulence – derived basic textures could be
substantially improved upon allowing more parameters to control, etc., and some
of the more unusual ones such as fuzz/hair/bristles and those involving
displacement mapping (procedurally generated), seem like they would be
challenging – but I'm certainly no programmer, so what the H*** do I know ? <g>
Regards,
Bill
