Can this be done legally? I was called on this during an IRS audit a few years
ago. I thought software was 3 years and hardware was 5. I know this doesn't
make sense with reality but does anything with the IRS depreciation rules? The
only other way is to Sect. 179 expense the stuff until you reach your limit.
