Hi John, well, there has'nt been any real official released information about it yet, but here are the basics: The new product is called "Blocks and Materials" and is a CDROM. It is an incredible collection of about 500++ 3D models, and 400++ texture maps in many different file formats each. The models are pre-material defined, and when bitmaps are used, are already assigned mapping coords. There are also material files which are completely pre-linked to the CDROM resources. It is pretty much a plug and play thing, and provides for the "Insert and Render" idea. The models are in many different file formats accomodating many different applications, including: 3DS2 and 3DS3 (each specifically) AutoVision any inside AutoCAD renderer, such as AccuRender and BigD ARE24 RenderStar AutoCAD Rel 10 ! DXF The models are of useful items found in design work of many different disciplines. It is basically like a "block library". Although the models are pre-material defined, everything is easily changed, reassigned, or updated by users of all expertise levels. Some of the main features of the model library, include many very detailed automobiles, and "bitmap to 3d face" relationship objects, such as trees and people. There are 3D people models as well. There is a little of everything in it. The trees are very high quality, and are completely pre-linked to texture and opacity maps as well as map coords. The trees are some of the most advanced stuff for 3DS users that I have ever seen. The product should start shipping in Mid March, and will include a high quality manual including color cards showing the models and materials. I hear that the intro price for a few months will be $199. There should be some ads coming out soon, as well as an official product information release in here. Thanks for your interest.
