Our color picker doesn't use histogram techniques… which is one of
the reasons it outperforms every other one on the market. :^) Your
composite and render is a good method for picking, but has the
drawback that since the images are reduced, many colors are
subsampled or averaged out. However, we're working on this specific
issue… :^)
