Brandon,
>>make sure to contact your hardware people before jumping<<
I was just talking to my HW guy today, and he felt we were safe, but Artisoft
woul be the real ones to ask I guess. I've started checking with diff. software
manufac.'s too, and so far OK. The only thing strange is that the jump Win/95
is making with it's GUI in the lastest Beta sounds superior to NT, but its
still just a DOS OS as far as I'm concerned…no mattter when it comes out
(1996?<g>). I'm sure they will follow with a NT facelift soon after, and WinNT
3.5 is REAL and around for purchase TODAY.
I talked to RobertMcNeal & Assoc. (AccuRender) and they said Acad13/NT is the
most stable OS they have on their HP Vectra/Dual Pent 90's and Intergraph
VT4(?)duals, as development platforms, which was encouraging to hear. I would
really be nice if 3DStudio 4 could some how tap into the NT OS directly and no
require this separate boot. What I didn't realize until today is that I can
leave my Win/3.11 on the HD when I install NT if I need to acess it if
something goes wrong with an app. in NT. Sort of like starting off with
training wheels I guess<g>.
