I did look over the material you sent me; it was very helpful in identifying
some of the materials I collected. The map in Shannon's article reveals that I
was closer to the prime collecting sites than I realized in the early morning
foul weather. Some of the vesicular basalt had a few small herschelite
crystals! They will make nice micromounts. Also, I am primed to go back with
the better directions and mineral guide. Perhaps next time I go back to
Arizona, I will also get to the Rowley Mine to collect some wulfenite.
Thanks for the kind words about the chabazite article. Lanny and I actually
discussed some of the trickier questions of copyright law, such as who has
reprint rights to an article. If it's ok with Lanny, I would be glad to have
the article in the UV Waves. If Lanny does agree, Waves should give an
acknowledgement to the publisher of Mineral News, as well.
