Bob E Hey I totally agree that Petroleum is of biological origin. My catastrophe theory easily buries billions & billions of tons of fresh animal material deep in fissures that close up and pressure cook the material into petroleum in a relatively short time preserving the complex molecules. The process can be simulated in a pressure cooker in a few hours. The oils floating on top of mamas stew will have a similar makeup as crude oil. The variations in deposits are due somewhat to the types of animals that were cooked in the batch. The density also depends on types of animal material coupled with the degree of evaporation or dissipation of volatiles that occurred. What other thought do you have on this?
