#San Diego Canyons ??
I live in San Diego. The topography around here is a number of Mesas with
canyons cut into them. For instance, I live on the heights of Point Loma and
the back of my house abuts on a canyon/ravine sort of thing which becoems the
famosa slough and empties into Mission Bay. There is no water in the ravine.
When I bought the house I got a geological consult for the stability of the
slope. The geologist told me the slope had been stable since they invented
dirt. I was so relieved to hear that I forgot to ask him, well, how did it get
there in the first place?
How may I find out if there is a fault running off my backyard? The only one I
know of nearby is the Rose Canyon fault along highway 5.
