INSTANT MUSIC

Hey John…. (guess who)… remember DJJ? He wrote a nice little utility
for me that does what you described. Takes one of the dealer demo sampled
sound instruments (effects) and converts it to an instant music-readable
instrument. Then you just stuff it into a correctly named subdir on DF1:,
load up IM, tell it to get instruments from the SubDir (instructions are in
the docs) and thar she be!
I spent the better part of last saturday converting sound effects to
instruments, testing them all, and then built two arc files (about 120K
each) and uploading them onto that peoplelink place. This gives instant
music owners/users the ability to play instruments that sound like pigs
oinking, horses whinnying, alarm clocks ringing, resonant chimes, a GREAT
minor organ chord that sounds like Phantom of the Opera, and about 6
others.
Anyway, I did the dirty work, thanks to DJJ's efforts, so the file(s) are
there for whoever wants them. NO OTHER converting, or fooling around
needed once they're un-arc'd.
BTW, I just spent an hour (read that $hour$) online here dumping 3 days
worth of postings to peruse…. lotsa interesting stuff to be read. Did
you read the bit about CBM capturing 3% of the business market? Wonder
what the overall market pie slices would look like, afterall, 5 million
C64's out there and they're still selling! Well, see ya 'round! HRL
