Yes, the stakes are higher for hardware manufacturers, although it just
means that you need more capital to run a hardware manufacturing
operation. However, a company contemplating entering this business should
not do so if it doesn't have the resources to treat its customers
properly.
Doing otherwise just hurts the entire marketplace.
