Yes indeed, the history warping effects in Forrest Gump were done
with Elastic Reality. In fact, Elastic Reality for SGI version 1.3
(actually less powerful than the 1.0 of the Windows product) is featured
in the Movie Magic "Blast From The Past" episode. The movie magic people
interviewed Doug Chiang and Ken Ralston on how the effects were made.
Elastic Reality gets more than a minute of total on-screen air time.
