I must confess, I was hoping otherwise as I'd like to see a video input/output card capable of "bridging the gap" so that people without expensive systems could perform all the desktop video functions–including and especially nonlinear editing. However, if there's nothing out there for around $1,000 capable of giving you video quality about as good as, say, you could get by making a straight tape dub on consumer equipment, it's pretty useless IMHO.
