I am in the midst of using Corel for some file conversions and have found better success if the Autocad .dxf files use only one layer. The most successful method, though, has been to save the single layer files out from Autocad as .eps files. Corel seems to work better with eps files than .dxf. When I say 'better' I am just saying I have had more files successfully import as .eps than .dxf. The .dxf files I brought into Corel often had many entities rotated incorrectly, fonts of the wrong size and other unpredictable anomolies. With .eps files I haven't seen any of this.
