That poses an interesting problem. I'm sure that a script could be
written to accomplish this, but consider the following.
1) From every angle . . .
To get every camera angle in a uniformly distrubuted fashion, you
would have to consider the shape of a regular polyhedra, such as a
dodecahedron: Where the center of the object is your camera target,
and the center of each face of the dodecahedron is the location of
your camera. OK, so now you have 20 camera angles (a twenty sided
polyhedron contains the most faces possible in the class regular
polyhedra, to my knowledge). To get more camera angles, you would
have to move to a class of irregular polyhedra. If you chose this,
you could use a GSphere or LSphere from 3DS as your model.
2) . . . with every rotation.
Now you need each possible rotation about each camera angle. Say you
do 360 degree increments. Thats 360×20 images = 7200 images (with a
20 sided regular polyhedra.)
I know I didn't directly solve your poblem, but maybe this will help
you decide a path of action, or maybe to reconsider your goal.
