Excuse me but I did not say ANY, I said any of the 1500 series Adaptec's Mike
listed, preferably the 1542, and we are talking about the Exabyte 8500 not the
8505.
The 8505 is a different beast because it has a higher transfer rate and storage
capacity.
I have an 8500 and it will even work with some SCSI-1 controllers,
which is one of the reasons I like the 8500 better, it is more
tolerant, not to mention that it is more universally accepted as a
format. As far as ASPI goes, that is a requirement for working with
the ASDG software not for working with the controller.
