Navfly and CDK shading
I tried out the NavFly demo, and had a question about the shading. It
appeared on my screen that the program takes the base color of the
object, and then dithers either black or white to shade the object.
This is on my 8 bit VESA compatible display.
Q. Can the CDK be set up to use more of the color palette, so shading
looks more natural, ie. rather than black & white dithering, use the
next closest color?
Q. Does the version 2 CDK use the same shading scheme?
I also saw in the literature that the CDK has Phong shading built-in.
I would imagine this is not too fast, but could be useful for a
snapshot.
Q. Does it support the same niceties as 3D Studio such as shadow and
reflection mapping (maybe it is the same rendering engine for all I
know)?
Sorry for so many questions, but I am trying to get a feel for the product and
its applications.
Thanks,
Michael Adams
