The collectivist strategy of penalizing the 'producers' to help the 'non-producers' is a theme throughout Ayn Rand's writing. She rails against this concept with venom. Greg Pyros and I picked up on the similar sounding strategy which you posed in your message. I bet Michelle Bousquet would have picked it up in a heartbeat as I know her to be well read in Rand's 'Atlas Shrugged'. /_______________________From your message________________________\\ My intention with this plan was to lay the biggest burden on those who could afford it most, making the models available to other users at more modest cost. I did put a lot of thought into this. __________________________________________________________________ Graduated income tax, welfare and all other 'Robin Hood' theories of stealing from the rich (the ones who actually produce) to give to the poor (the non-producers) were favorite topics of Ayn Rand as she wrote several books and articles trashing this concept. My take on your message was that it was reminiscent of the antithesis of Rand's philosophy.
