The program turns the Amiga into a drum machine and uses IFF samples so you can use your own sounds (the instructions don't mention this, though). DD gives you about 99 sampled drum sounds. They sound as good as any samples I have heard on the Amiga, of course you can use guitar sounds, sound effects and whatever. The program comes with a short instruction cassette tape, a few pages of instructions and ICK…a hardware protection DONGLE for joystick port 2. My dealer warned me that it might have a few bugs and after I brought it home I found it did lock up…until I read the instructions and I haven't had 1 problem since. DD uses the numeric key pad, and you can enter patterns in real or step time. DD will quantizie too. You make patterns and then combine the patterns into songs. It also has a graphic editing screen that makes corrections easy. DD allows random tuning, accents and volumes of instruments to give a more human feel. You can also assign any sound to any of the Amiga's 4 channels. This is the slickest program! A great composers tool. Composing drums with Sonix or DMCS is a pain, but a pure joy with DD…which is why I want to sync it with something that will control my FB01.
