From an article in yesterday's SF Chronicle, on why IBM should abandon OS/2: In
a recent poll of PC users, they ranked operating systems in this order (of
desirability/usability): 1.) Windows 3.11, 2.) Windows 95 (!), 3.) Windows NT,
4.) MS-DOS, and 5.) OS/2.
OS/2 ranked behind a product not even available yet (Win 95), *and* the dying
DOS! Regardless of your or our personal feelings, the name of the game here is
compatibility and standards with the rest of the computing world — and OS/2
simply isn't cutting it.
