"I agree with you Jack, that they should make 2 versions of R5 an NT and a NON-NT (i.e. DOS) version." Well, hope springs eternal… (though I'm quite a pessimist when it comes to Gary implying that the ones not getting NT will be left behind) The only thing that worries me, is the fact that anything I know about Windows tells me that things will be SLOW, slower than they would be without the Windows overhead. The MS guys always had the philosophy that if their stuff gets too demanding (lots of overhead and memory), the customer can offset that by buying a machine with tons of memory and a faster processor. (Always good to offset your BAD programming with better hardware <BG>) What it comes down to is: You buy a faster machine and everything runs just nicely at a speed "one machine step" lower. If they coded their stuff right, you would REALLY see some speed. There is hope though, somebody here wrote me that MS didn't write NT, so mayhaps we're in luck… The only problem I see is the damn princing strategy of MS, The NT "mini version" sells for $280 and the server (who wouldn't want that one?) sells for about $700! (a tough one to swallow…) Well enough bitching and griping, I'll see you and me using NT anyhow, just so we can have our 3D-Studio… Jack
