#Making 3DS for NT
People.
If you write an NT application in, say, Visual C++ 2.0 (32 bit version) that
takes advantage of whatever processor, all you have to do is click a radio
button in the compiler configuration. It's not difficult. Quick panicing.
I'm pouring through all these messages about multiprocessors and alpha.
I have no affiliation with Yost or Autodesk, but as a software developer I
would
almost GUARANTEE that 3DS-NT will come on a CD ROM just like any other NT
application. And in that root directory, there will be 3 subdirs: Ix86, MIPS,
ALPHA.
Depending on which platform you are running, the installation will be hugely
complicated. You will double click on the type of processor you have, then you
will double click on the program called SETUP.EXE.
I personally believe we are in great hands with AutoD and Yost. Also, get over
the command line issue. It's going to DIE!
Win95 is there to ween those who don't know how to use Windows Help from the
command prompt. It's internal API commands
are "supposed" to be FULLY NT COMPATIBLE. This does not necessarily mean 3DS-NT
will run under Win95, but was it does mean
is that Micro$oft is headed away from the command prompt.
Either get over it, or close your doors by 1998.
NT is easy to install. It is stable. It is here to stay. It is coming to your
TV. Wake up!
Ah… If any of this you found offensive, please forgive me. I just had to get
this off my chest.
