Hi Wade, StudioCity is a collaborative group project that users of 3D Studio are putting together. It started on this forum (Asoft), but has just recently moved over to the new Showcase Forum (Ashowc). Basically (big inhale), it will be a city made up of meshes from individual contributors. Much discussion ensued over the past few months about how this would be done. There are many issues involved, regarding protection of artist's rights, commercialization, etc. Survey questions were created and answered, a proposed charter was drawn up based on the survey results… and then things somewhat ran out of steam, IMO, due to the complexity of the issues, personal biases, and the difficulties of this form of communication. Currently, Donald Newlands and Sanford Kennedy are working on the project. I have sprouted off a bit, with what I call the Main Street group project. It will be similar to StudioCity, but more along the lines of the original idea for StudioCity, and probably much smaller in scope and scale than StudioCity was/is becoming. The most important thing from my perspective is that it *will* come to be. StudioCity, as a collaborative effort in the planning stages, was difficult, and frankly may never get off the ground. I am avoiding that with Main Street, as I am not collaborating much to set it up. People will be asked to join in when it is finished. You may wish to search the Asoft and Ashow SC2000 libraries for chartr.zip, and other files, to get a feel for where things have been. Paul S.
