Friso, you're surely right with that most modems can talk with the computer at pretty high speed. I use a ZyXel 1496 and can use Term on my A2000/030 with linkspeed of 76.800 baud and no problems. The speed between my modem and the remote one doesn't exceed 19.200, of course, and only when the other side uses a ZyXel too. But OTOH, Steve Alstrom adviced not to use too much of linkspeed if one uses Autopilot, even with an 030-equipped Amiga. I'm now running connect speed and linkspeed of 9.600 all the same (my CIS-node in Germany won't go any faster 🙁 ). Steve says that AutoPilot has so much to do building it's various files that an higher linkspeed could cause messages to be left out if you're not on an 040 at least. Indeed I _had_ some trouble with lost messages when I run AP with higher linkspeeds… Regards, Joachim Sondermann-Bieker on Amiga AutoPilot 1.77 from Cologne, Germany
