>>Post it here in classifieds instead. There are those out here who can live >>with a PeeCee emulation that does not do Doom. Sorry, I already posted it about 2 weeks ago. It sold rather quickly (maybe too quickly, hmmmm). I was waiting to hear about or see the 586e emulation before I made the final commitment. It's inevitable that I'll eventually regret my decision, however, I can't look back. I can only afford one computer and I have to make comprimises so that everyone in my family can benefit from my machine. Luckily I have enough invested into my current system that it's resale will net me a pretty high-end Pentium (ie 100MHz). I'm sure that 90% of the EMPLANT users can get away without the DOOM compatibility. However, I've already bumped up against a wall several times with the MAC emulation's incompatibilities and I don't need it happening with the 586. It isn't the incompatibility with DOOM, specifically, that bothers me, but rather the fact that the emulation can't handle something that 386's and 486's can handle. I work a great deal in 3D modeling and animation and I can't help but believe that there will be similar incompatibilities in these areas. If I only needed the 586e for Quicken or Word, the choice would be academic. Without a doubt, if you have no intention to ever get rid of your Amiga, the EMPLANT is an absolute must have.
